2026 Tokyo Spelling Bee Results

Hello busy bees!

Thank you all for another amazing year of the Tokyo Spelling Bee.

I am happy to share the results of this year's competition.

3rd & 4th Grade

• 3rd Place - Taiga (Christian Academy in Japan)

• 2nd Place - Dora (Seisen International School)

• 1st Place - Yanipat (Nagoya International School)

The winning word was minutia.

5th & 6th Grade

• 3rd Place - Aryan (UIA International School of Tokyo)

• 2nd Place - Mayra (Seisen International School)

• 1st Place - Gieann (Victory International School)

The winning word was domineering.

7th & 8th Grade

• 3rd Place - Pearl (Kohana International School)

• 2nd Place - Nina (Seisen International School)

• 1st Place - Aryan (Global Indian International School)

The winning word was Munich.

The data below shows how many rounds each competition progressed through (up until the final 2), as well as the duration per round, # of eliminated competitors per round, and words that e

liminated students. Student names have been reduced to abbreviations to protect anonymity.
